have a 2007 HP and it keeps turning off about 5x a day...started 2 nights ago.
Keep getting the message 'spybot has detected an important registry entry that has been changed' and these boxes keep poping up. when i deny the change another box pops up with the same warning.

Ive run CCLEANER, Avira Antivirus, Spybot, Ad Aware, and a few registry cleaners and it hasnt fixed the issue although the Avira scan detected a few trojans.

What should I try next? The laptop is only 6 months old.

It's a trojan(s), and they can be a bitch.

Download sysclean from Trendmicro.com and the latest pattern file.

Disable system restore into reboot into safe mode & don't connect to the internet. Extract the pattern file into the same folder as sysclean(or on the desktop) and run sysclean.

It takes a long time, and the logs are a bit tough to read, but this may do it.
